This is a hand-carved and hand-painted “Eternal Candle” (Ewige Kerze) made by the German manufacturer Johann Gunter (Günter Kerzen) in West Germany during the 1960s.
- Design: A sculptural, tower-shaped decorative candle featuring a detailed scene of musicians and traditional folk life around its base. The figures include musicians playing an accordion and a double bass. The upper portion features small windows and intricate decorative details.
- Special Features: These so-called “Eternal Candles” were artistically hand-carved from wax and often designed to preserve their decorative outer structure while an internal wick or candle insert burned. They could also be displayed purely as decorative objects or wax sculptures without ever being lit.
